One measurement is enough
You need a tape measure and about twenty seconds. No string, no guessing by breed: two labradors can be two sizes apart.
How to measure
- Find the widest point Just behind the front legs, around the deepest part of the ribcage.
- Snug, not tight Two fingers should slide under the tape. Measure with your dog standing, not sitting.
- Read it off the table On the edge between two sizes, take the larger: every strap adjusts down, none adjusts up.
